A Happy New year to all of you out there.
I have started working once again with Kaushik Pal. I worked with Kaushik on “DRAGONSLAYER” for “Vault of Terror” (SMASH COMICS) and this time around we are doing a steam-punk alternate reality superhero title.

Hello all! I wanted to let you know the good news that Albatross #1 is finally out!
Let me thank you all again for participating with your VERY good creations.
Albatross, the premiere 100-page eAnthology by Kiosko Web eComics, is available for purchase from http://www.julio.ws/kiosko for only $2.49 using a Paypal account, a bank account or a debit/credit card.
To give our stories the chance to be known by the world, I placed ads in several websites and will continue promoting it. I invite you to help spread the word about Albatross.
Tell your friends, family and work colleagues about it. Mention it in the forums you visit and your own websites. Use common sense to help promote this comic and of course, NO spam techniques.
Check out these ads you can add to your website http://www.julio.ws/KIOSKO/mods/ads.aspx You may want to create similar ads yourself. It’s up to you.
Let’s hope that Albatross #1 sells very well. If so, there will be more issues.
I take this chance to repeat my good holiday wishes for all. Thanks, and talk to you later,

My two page short ICARUS is online on HeavyGlow. Click here to view it.
ICARUS is based on an Australian folk song called “The Exile’s Lament”.
This is the penultimate issue of HeavyGlow and it really hurts to think that HG is going on hiatus. Laurie and Stacy, the editors of HG were the first ones to accept a story of mine and I am thankful to them for that.
Here is wishing a quick return to HG.
EDIT : Fixed the links
i found this wonderful new community site modelled on mySpace.com for comic book creators called “ComicSpace” ( http://www.comicspace.com )
My account is http://www.comicspace.com/mohaps.
I finally managed to give the mohaps.com website a full overhaul using the most excellent Simple PHP Blog and some TLC with the colors/themes.
I must say I was very impressed by the ease of install and rich feature set of the software. I managed to get my site up and running and looking like it does now within half an hour (most of the time spent in uploading files)
This is the third incarnation of the site and hopefully this site shall be the dynamic site I always wished for. 🙂
Now begins the arduous task of collating and getting over the information I have scattered over the web into my current site.
I have till now managed to migrate my writing portfolio and related links to this site. Shall probably do my old blogspot blog tomorrow night.
I have decided to use my old blog at http://220volts.sulekha.com as a Blook (Blog + Blook) to post stories and poems from now onwards.
As I had posted earlier I am working on a noir title “Walk With Me” with Miguel Santos and i started on the second story of the series called “Confession”.
I had initially written the story during the Boston Diocese child abuse scandal and one version had been published in “Heavy Glow”
Miguel has added his own distinctive flair to the art and in my opinion has accentuated the dystopic ambience even more than I could ever hope to.
Here is the title splash preview

Bar, my three year old male cat is right now in the hospital where he is going to have an operation to clear a blockage in his urethra.
I just hope he gets well soon. I have not seen my cats (Foo and Bar) in nearly seven months now.. and now this is unbearable for me.
If you have a overweight male cat around three years of age be careful about the signs of FLUTD… You can find tons of links about it from the web. Watching for the signs in advance can mean life or death for you beloved cat.
for more photos of foo and bar my cats see click here 🙂
Update : Bar had his operation and is now in great shape… though he has a shaved butt 🙂
Today I received a mail from Sathya Saran, the editor of “DNA-Me” asking me for bio information as my story “The Place of Many Doors” is scheduled for publication very soon.
This story is special for me as I was requested by the editor to write something for a much different audience than my usual one. (“DNA-Me” is a women’s magazine.)
In many ways this is a sequel to a story of mine published in “Chick Flix eZine” titled “Einstein’s Twin“. Einstein’s Twin was told from a man’s viewpoint while Place of Many Doors is told from the female perspective.
The story is not sci-fi / spec-fic, rather is about uncertainties of life. I loved every bit of the process, in writing the story of Nandini, a young woman who is pregnant from a recently ended relationship and now must decide whether to keep the child or have an abortion.
